Mollie is the Director of Sweetwater Women’s Fly Fishing School, Director of Conservation and Education, and Outfitting Manager for Sweetwater Fly Shop. She leads the shop’s conservation and education efforts, engaging organizations, the community, and fly shops in protecting our local waters. With years of outreach and event management experience, she creates events and programs that introduce and educate women and children to the sport of fly fishing in an inclusive and fun way. There isn't much she loves more than working with our clients in setting up the best day possible for them while visiting the area and fishing our waters.
Mollie has many years of professional business experience working as a Director of Operations and Regional Director of Operations with a leading national broadcasting company before the transition to the non-profit sector.
She has served as a board member for various Trout Unlimited Chapters, led the Mid-Atlantic Program of Casting for Recovery, and served as a Mentor and National Media and Outreach Coordinator for The Mayfly Project. In addition to her roles at the shop, Mollie serves as Executive Director of two nonprofits that support the guide community; the Guide Relief Program and the Outdoor Guide Association. It’s no surprise that in her off time you’ll find her fishing on one of our local waters.
James started fishing flies in the great state of Vermont. Trout, panfish, and bass were all very easy for him to catch in the waters surrounding Lake Champlain, as well as lake run Rainbows and landlocked Salmon. He then caught the tying bug and found himself creating flies the size of small birds to target the famed species Muskellunge. His life was broken! Tying and fishing was all he could think about
James’ dog, Boh, loves to go fishing almost as must as James does, so they decided to drive west and explore trout fishing in Montana. They didn’t find any Musky, but stripping streamers for oversized browns, has been a good substitute for the pair.
An ice fishing, fly tying, streamer chucking junkie from Maryland, James considers himself lucky for doing what they do and working for such a great shop as Sweetwater Fly Shop. Stop by and check out some of our custom patterns and say hey to Boh and the other pups.
Brewer grew up in Maryland fishing the tidal estuaries of the Chesapeake Bay. Stripers, Largemouth, and Pickerel were among his favorite species to target along with a plethora of other sportfish and game animals. Slowly he ventured into trout, eventually falling in love with fly fishing.
Though he lives in Livingston, near the banks of the iconic Yellowstone River and home to Sweetwater Fly Shop, he has never abandoned his multispecies or conventional fishing roots. Brewer still catches any fish any way he can.
Brewer’s favorite days are those spent chasing the big trout of our region’s stillwaters or spending summer days on the secluded creeks fishing dries in the mountains and meadows in our area. We like to think he’s a bit more of a jack of all trades than a master of one. Come by the shop and Brewer would be happy to talk about anything from hunting to fishing and maybe he will even give you one or two of his “secret” spots!
