The way that the Lamar River flows skyrocketed after the heavy rains the other night, we were expecting it to dump a ton of mud into the Yellowstone River by today. Well, if such an event happened, it’s sure doing a good job of hiding itself. As of last evening, the Yellowstone was clear down in the Paradise Valley and up in Gardiner. It’s maybe just a touch milky this morning at Pine Creek (see the photo accompanying this post). It may be that there’s enough water in the Yellowstone right now to dilute the relatively minor increase on the Lamar. Regardless, the fishing should be good today throughout the trout stretch of the Yellowstone River. Get out there while the getting’s good!
