The Paradise Valley spring creeks are fishing exceptionally well these days. Especially on overcast days with a dropping barometer. Anglers have ample opportunity to fish dry flies, nymphs, and work streamers to some of the largest fish of the season.
The brown trout spawning run is well under way, and all 3 spring creeks have fish on their redds. Fish are eating sow bugs, scuds, midges and baetis nymphs. Sow bugs adorned with a hot bead (pink or orange) work very well and are an excellent choice as a top fly in a 2-nymph rig. We like pairing the sow bug with a size 20-22 zebra midge (red, black, olive, cream) or an 18-22 baetis nymph. This nymphing rig works particularly well in holes and runs below spawning redds and has produced some of the best fish of the day.
We are still seeing some baetis hatching midday, enough to bring good fish to the surface to feed on floating nymphs, emergers, and duns. A size 22 gray CDC comparadun on a 12’ leader has been the ticket.

November is a great time to fish for the biggest fish of the year. Please be mindful of spawning areas on the Creeks and disrupting the spawning rites of fall.
