Product Review: Sage Pulse Fly Rod

New for 2016, the Sage Pulse rod is perhaps the best rod on the market for its price. Coming in at $450, fast action provides rod provides more fluid casting and high line speed. Stiff enough for sending those heavy streamers across the river, as well as gentle enough to be a phenomenal rod for dry flies that require more delicate presentation. The Pulse is manufactured with Sage’s state of the art Graphite IIIe technology, which increases the strength of the rod blank, and allows the Pulse to be extremely light without losing any durability. Sage’s classical aesthetics are by n0 means lost with the Pulse. The lichen green blank stands out, but in the same way an olive bugger stands out in your fly box. Little flash, and all class, not to mention they say geniuses chose the color green. A strong rosewood and anodized aluminum reel seat will keep your real safe and secure while you bush-wack to the next hole, and the Pulse’s hard chromed guides and tip top will shoot your line out exactly where you want it to once you get there.  The Pulse weighs in at 3 1/4 ounces and comes with a slightly more narrow cork grip, giving it the feel in hand similar to a smaller rod.

Do not be fooled, this 5 weight masterpiece will be ample rod for waters across Montana from the babbling brooks to deep lakes. The Pulse is simply ready to go regardless of where you are headed. Come by the shop and give the Pulse a few casts and you will see what we mean!
