It’s that time of year again, time for Sweetwater Fly Shop’s 4th Annual Short Fly Fishing Video Contest! Time to start editing your best fly fishing footage from last summer into a short (5 minutes max) video that expresses your passion for the sport.
The deadline for submitting your video is February 28th, so there’s still plenty of time to fire up the editing software and create your masterpiece. We haven’t chosen a grand prize yet, but be assured that it’ll be something well worth winning!
We had 18 great entries in last year’s contest and we hope to get even more than that this year! So don’t be shy; let us see what you’ve put together. Amateur filmmakers only, please. One entry per person.
As in past years, we’ll be posting all of the entries to this blog for the public to see. And we’ll be scheduling another video viewing party here in Livingston, Montana. You need not be present to win and we encourage you to enter no matter where in the country (or world) you reside.
Technical prowess is great, and lots of big fish are always fun to watch. But don’t feel intimidated or constrained by the “fish porn” genre. We’re looking for a video that tells a good story and expresses the wonder and excitement of fly fishing. We want to see your video!
Are you interested in submitting a video or do you have questions about the contest? Shoot us an email and we’ll get back to you. Keep on eye on this blog for contest updates and to view the entries as they come in. Happy editing!
Update: We’re giving away a brand new Scott G2 fly rod as the Grand Prize in our video contest! Just a bit more motivation to get your video submitted by Feb. 28th.
Need some inspiration? Take a look at 2016’s entries here.
